Doreen Nyanjura Omutatina, the deputy lord mayor of Kampala, has taken it upon herself to search for Onesmus, who was seen in a popular video that was shot at Mary Stuart Hall at Makerere University.
Following a video of Onesmus pleading with a woman he referred to as Immy, he went viral and was made fun of on social media. His alleged ex-girlfriend dumped him. Onesmus pledged to submit to Immy while they were in her hostel room. For assistance in persuading their friend to pardon him, he even asked her roommates. However, she told him that while she had forgiven him, she no longer wanted him to contact her or visit her hostel.
Onesmus started receiving all kinds of insults after this video went viral on social media. Doreen Nyanjura Omutatina decided to go in search of him and speak with him privately. She claimed that she had assured Onesmus that nothing was wrong with what he had done. Therefore, he should disregard social norms that prohibit men from kneeling.

Onesmus, in the opinion of Doreen Nyanjura, is unique. This is because after being thrown, he chose peace; however, some men commit suicide, while others murder. Thus, his decision to support peace over extremism demonstrates his greatness. She also pleaded with everyone making fun of him to consider what would happen if one of their loved ones was in that circumstance.
She also pleaded for kindness toward him, noting that he was already dealing with the pain of being dumped.
I have had a very beautiful afternoon with Onesmus. I have told him there is nothing wrong with loving genuinely. I told him to ignore society stereotypes of men don’t kneel.

“With Onesmus, I’ve had a really lovely afternoon. I’ve assured him that being sincere in your love is perfectly acceptable. I also advised him to reject the social stereotype that says men shouldn’t bow down. He chose peace because some men who are thrown commit suicide, while others murder the people who chuck them. We all respond to rejection in different ways; he opted for peaceful means rather than extremism. He was destined for greatness, I told him. “.
