A day ago, social media was on fire yet again as Frank Gashumba took on NBS TV news anchor and theologian Samson Kasumba over what Gashumba referred to as an attack on his beloved daughter, Sheilah Cathy Gashumba.
All this happened while Frank Gashumba had been hosted at 103.3 Radio 4, ” Ensunsuzi” which belongs to NRM staunch supporter Balaama Balugahara. In a radio show, Gashumba was confused as to why an Old man, Kasumba would fault his daughter for trashing local TV content.
How the Frank Gashumba – Samson Kasumba rangles started.
All this started when Sheilah Gashumba called Uncut presenter and renowned gossip king, Kawalya Isaac “Kayz” a local guy who grew up watching local shows of “Kigenya Agenya” on a black and white TV yet she grew up watching Beyonce and Rihanna.
The bit of underlooking local TV content is what sparked Samson Kasumba to advise Sheilla not to downplay local TV content, and in turn, this advice from Kasumba is what triggered Frank Gashumba to tell Kasumba to back off his daughter!!!
In a video that circulated on Twitter, a visibly furious Frank Gashumba told Samson Kasumba to leave his daughter alone. Gashumba also asked why old men like Kasumba get into internet fights with a little girl like Sheila. Gashumba went on to accuse Samson of being a flop at copying fallen news anchor Bbaale Francis (RIP) while anchoring news.
Kasumba was also accused of faking the English accent. As if this was not enough, Frank asked Samson Kasumba to present his land titles and bank statements if indeed he has achieved anything at his age to compare himself with Sheila. Frank Gashumba had no kind words at all for Samson.
In response, Samson Kasumba turned up to anchor the NBS TV live at 9 bulletins with a suitcase which he said was “full of land titles” after his fellow anchor, Sheila Tusiime asked him what was in the bag. In another funny incident, Samson recorded a video of himself allegedly calling the bank manager and asking her to send him his bank statements to present to Frank Gashumba, but according to him, he had no money left in his account. All this was meant to indirectly mock Frank and his statements but in the funniest way ever.
You will remember that Gashumba has no kind words at all for anyone who will talk about his daughter in a negative way. People like former Urban TV presenter Tina fierce, Robin Kisti, and Kawalya Isaac “Kayz” have all faced his wrath for talking about his daughter negatively.
In this whole circus, I believe that as a mature person, Frank overreacted to this information from Samson given the fact that it wasn’t a big deal what he said. He was only concerned. I also believe that Frank shouldn’t comment about everything, sometimes he should leave things to just pass by. But hey, this is his daughter and he should do as he pleases.
