A Second Bus Accident Along The Kampala-Gulu Highway Kills 16 Lives.

A late-night bus accident on the Kampala-Gulu highway has reportedly killed at least 16 people, which is tragic.

In a press conference, North Kyoga police spokesperson Patrick Jimmy Okema detailed the unfortunate incident. He claimed that 11 people passed away immediately. Four more people passed away at the Matapara hospital, where they had been taken for treatment.

Mr.dot Okema states that the deceased has not yet been identified at the hospital, and several additional hurt passengers are in critical condition. Okema said the accident involved a bus owned by the Robin bus company in a statement he made this morning in the early hours. The bus, with registration number UAT 259P, was traveling from Kampala to Gulu when it was involved in an accident.

Evidently, the bus driver was unable to avoid a trailer that was parked. He finally crashed into something, instantly killing 11 people. This occurred at around midnight at the Adebi Trading Center, just a short distance from a checkpoint in Kamdini.

The bodies of the deceased have been transported to Anyeke Health Center for a postmortem and, if possible, identification.

Police are still looking into what caused the fatal accident in its entirety. The trailer driver, however, may have parked in the incorrect location despite there being no warning signs, according to preliminary findings.

Due to the large number of people going to and from villages, road accidents have risen slightly since November 2022.

Earlier, traffic police reported that 28 accidents resulted in up to 35 fatalities and 114 injuries in just three days.
