Minister Babalanda Appeals To The Parents On Killing A Girl Child

The Kibaale District parents and other stakeholders have been instructed by the Minister for Presidency, Ms. Babirye Milly Babalanda, to promote the teaching of sciences to the female child by providing them with skills that, in the future after studies, would enable them to compete in the job market.

At the belated Kibaale district women’s day celebrations held at Muhangi P/S grounds in Mugarama Sub County, the minister made the comments.

The issue of gender inequality, when women are viewed as second-class citizens even though they possess similar or even superior abilities to their male counterparts, is one of the biggest global concerns of the twenty-first century, according to Minister Babalanda.

“However, when a woman is empowered with education, with a skill, with a speaking platform, etc., that woman will all of a sudden be empowered, and from that time on, she will compete very ably with her male counterparts,” she added.

In order to encourage women to participate in government initiatives like UWEP, PDM, and Emyooga, among others, Minister Babalanda took a hard stance and praised the political leaders of the Kibale district for fostering cooperation and development in the area.

Mr. Matia Kasaija, the minister of finance, urged family heads to stop demeaning and undermining women.

Women are the cornerstones of growth, according to Mr. Kasaija, who is also the Buyanja County Member of Parliament. He also added that leaders should participate in the family-level mobilization of wealth creation.

Since services in these areas are still lacking, the Kibaale District Woman Member of Parliament, Hon. Noeline Kisembo Basemera, requested that the government increase funding for the rural electrification program, healthcare facilities, and secondary schools.

The government is devoted to wealth creation, according to Kibaale Resident District Commissioner Mr. Angalia Godwin Kasigwa.
