Puerto Rican Rapper Bad Bunny Throws Fan’s Phone In Water

Monday evening a video made rounds of Puerto Rican Rapper Bad Bunny throwing a fan’s phone in the water. The female fan was perhaps targeting a selfie but things did not go well with her.

The incident is said to have happened in the Dominican Republic where the Rapper was at the moment. The video has left a number of people wondering about the response – throwing a fan’s phone in water.

However, the Grammy Winner for best Latin Pop or Urban Album explained everything in a tweet released that same Monday.

Bad Bunny draws a line between fans who want to create a genuine interaction… versus the ones looking for social media clout, which he deduces as an act of disrespect.

He adds with a stern warning that “ don’t stick a freakin’ phone in his face, at least not without asking first!!! “

Bad Bunny is not First Celebrity to Throw Fan’s Phone

Apparently, there is a long list of celebrities who have done the same thing as Bunny. To a larger extent, their reasons are often justified though at times it’s just a totally cruel response to one of their ardent supporters.

A case in point is Cristiano Ronaldo’s smashing of a 14-year-old Everton fan way back in April 2022. The response from the five-time Ballon d’Or winner actually stemmed from the fact that Manchester United had lost to Everton that day.

As a result, the Football Association after careful investigation and bearing slapped a fine and a three-match ban for improper conduct.

Recently, in October 2022, Steve Lacey landed in hot soup after destroying a fan’s phone that was thrown at him while performing on stage. It is presumed the fan merely wanted him to take a selfie and send back the phone.

Famous World Boxing heavyweight Champion Conor McGregor also did smash a fan’s phone. The incident happened in 2019.It is likely that the fan would have ended up receiving one of his heavyweight punches.

A story dating back to 2016 speaks of Chris Brown’s arrival in Mombasa, Kenya. Visiting the East African country, the US star ought to have had some reserve before also grabbing and smashing a fan’s phone.

However, as Bunny puts it, as fans, despite all the love you have for your artist/ celebrity, don’t just stick your phone in their face. Kindly ask for permission to do so. You never know, you may receive more than one single selfie.
