Real Madrid Win 5th Club World Cup

Having won the UEFA Super Cup at the start of the season, Real Madrid added yet another trophy to their trophy cabinet by winning a fifth Club World Cup. The Spanish giants overcame Saudi Arabian Football Club Al Hilal in a final that took place on Saturday 11, February 2023 in Morocco. The game ended 5-3.

The FIFA Club World Cup is played by the champions of football leagues recognized by FIFA all-over the world. For instance, the winners of the UEFA Champions League ( Europe)and the Copa Libertadores ( South America), CAF Champions ( Africa ), and AFC Champions League ( Asia ) plus the winners of the host nation’s national champions take part in the competition.

Since its inception in 2002, the Club world cup has been won the most by teams from Spain. A record eight times. Real Madrid arguably stands out as the Club from Spain with the most wins in this cup as they record their fifth cup win. It also lifted the trophy in 2014, 2016, and 2017.

How Real Madrid won the Club World Cup
