It all started when Kayz, who had been hosted on the “NBS Amasengejje Extra” program which airs on NBS TV every weekday from 7:40 pm, accused Sheilah Gashumba of dressing inappropriately at her show dubbed “One man One bottle” held recently at MOTIV in Bugolobi, and that her dress code would haunt
her in her adult life when she finally gets to have children. Kayz, therefore, said that he couldn’t include Sheilah on his list of the best-dressed TV show hosts of this year. This information didn’t go down well with Sheilah who fumed immediately after hearing about it.
Sheilah Gashumba, who is known for not settling for less, as usual, had to come out and bash the popular “UNCUT” show host by labeling him “local” and one who is behind the fashion world. She later said that Kayz draws his fashion inspiration from having watched local TV shows of “Kigenya Agenya” on a black and white television as he grew up while On her side she grew up watching international shows on the DISNEY channel and she draws inspiration from international celebrities like Rihanna and Beyonce hence explaining her fashion Sense.
She concluded by saying that Kayz has never and will never be in the same league as her. We still don’t know how Kayz is going to respond to this banter or insult if you like.
This is not the first time Kayz has rubbed celebrities the wrong way due to his remarks on air. Last year, Kayz got a stint at Kitalya prison after he accused famed singer Omulangira Suuna of dating women older than him. This annoyed OS SUUNA who took him to court thereby having him and his workmate WAKO imprisoned. Kayz also stepped on the toes of upcoming Musician Ronald Alimpa of the “Olusuku lwa Cement” fame when he accused him of stealing and redoing a song sung by Mose Radio.
Kayz is a Gossip show host, on a show dubbed “UNCUT KALAKATA” which airs on Sanyuka TV at 10 pm daily in this show, he usually makes remarks and asks provocative questions to celebrities which annoys some of them while others like Famed singer Angela Katatumba don’t seem to mind about them. This is his style of presenting his show.
Sheilla Gashumba on the other side is also not new to controversy as she has also on several occasions crossed paths with people including her former employees of Serena-based NTV whom she accused of paying her only 50,000 shillings per show, a figure she considered so meager.
Gashumba also laughed at most Ugandan DJs who she said can’t play AMAPIANO in their mixes more than their counterparts in South Africa.
This bitter row between two workmates Gashumba and Kayz has drawn the attention of fellow workmate Samson Kasumba a News Anchor at NBS live at 9, who cautioned Sheilla against downplaying local content created by talented artists in Uganda.
