Senior Six leavers across Uganda are set to undergo patriotism and ideological training programme at the National Leadership Institute (NALI) in Kyankwanzi.
The initiative, announced by National Secretariat for Patriotism Corps (NSPC) Commissioner Hellen Seku, is expected to commence this year following discussions with President Yoweri Museveni.
Seku said the programme is designed to equip young people with values centred on discipline, patriotism, national identity and responsibility.

Participants are expected to receive training in areas including Uganda’s political history, Pan-Africanism, citizenship, integrity and entrepreneurship, alongside drills, parades and ideological sessions.
The announcement came in Rukungiri District during the conclusion of a week-long patriotism training exercise involving more than 1,700 students from four institutions.
The planned nationwide rollout has already generated debate online, particularly over how the government intends to handle the large number of Senior Six leavers expected to pass through NALI.
Details on the reporting dates, possible training cohorts and whether attendance will be compulsory are yet to be released.
The initiative builds on the government’s existing patriotism training programmes conducted at Kyankwanzi for different groups of Ugandans.
