Singer Dax Vibez has opened up about how he landed a collaboration with fellow singer Rema Namakula, revealing that it took nearly two years from the time he first approached her to when they finally hit the studio.
Dax explained that he was the one who initiated the collaboration, but had to remain patient as Rema repeatedly told him they would work together when the right time came.
According to Dax, working with an established artiste like Rema is not easy, but he believes his music has earned him a special connection with some of the country’s biggest names.

“Working with Rema Namakula on a project is hard. But what you have to know is that I’m different. I swear. It’s not about blowing my own trumpet, but I’m blessed. I think Rema is my fan because she sings all my songs from start to finish,” Dax said.
He went on to mention several other established musicians whom he believes appreciate his music, including the late Mowzey Radio, Vinka and Bebe Cool.
“Even the late Mowzey Radio was my fan. Vinka wasn’t my fan before I hit the limelight. Even Bebe Cool is my number one fan, though he has not yet given me the house he promised,” he joked.
Dax said he remained patient after approaching Rema for the collaboration, despite the project taking much longer than he initially expected.
“I initiated the move of requesting Rema for a collabo, and she kept promising me that we would do it when the right time came. I kept patient and cool,” he explained.
After about one to two years, Dax said Rema finally reached out and confirmed that she was ready to work on the project.
“After a year or two, we linked and she told me that she was ready to work with me on a project. I then brainstormed recording two songs, ‘Sisaa’ and ‘Onziise’. She chose ‘Onziise’, and we worked on it with Nessim,” he revealed.
Dax said the collaboration has since lived up to his expectations, particularly because he wanted to tap into Rema’s fanbase and expand his opportunities for performances and bookings.
“She reached my expectations because I wanted to tap into her fanbase so that I could get gigs and bookings at different functions. Even on Spotify, it’s working better than many of my songs,” he said.
The singer added that the song has taken on a different life from some of his other releases, describing it as more of a listening track that has not been heavily pushed everywhere.
“So it’s more of a listening song that you won’t find so much everywhere,” Dax added.
