Celebrity Statements

Jose Chameleon Asserts, “Im In A League Of My Own.”

The legendary singer Jose Chameleon has requested that media figures and music critics stop including him among the best musicians or celebrities because he claims to be in a class by himself.

Jose Chameleon stated in an on-air interview with a local television station that he is a superstar, not a celebrity.

The head of Leone Island Music Empire points out that, in contrast to today, when they first began their music careers, it was difficult to break into the mainstream media.

The legendary Ugandan singer asserts that, in contrast to other performers who put in such significant effort to develop their craft and achieve fame, his stardom is innate.

In the first place, a “star” is typically someone who gains fame through a talent, whereas a “celebrity” is any well-known person who is not necessarily talented in anything.

Jose Chameleone’s comments come after New Vision released its divisive list of the top 100 Ugandan celebrities for 2022.

It is important to keep in mind that Mad Tiger, the singer of “Obulamu Bwensi Bunyuma Kiro,” claimed in 2020 that he, not Jose Chameleone, founded Leone Island. He explained that in 1998, Jose Chameleone and Shanks Vivid recorded an album.

Kenyan superstar Redsan was included in that album. Being a cunning individual, Chameleone maintained relationships with Kenyans.

When Ogopa DJs opened a recording studio, they made Mama Mia for Jose Chameleone and then went back to Uganda with his girlfriend Grit (Dorotia).

Dorotia started renting a home in Muyenga, and Chameleone opened a studio in her house. Flute Loops, a piece of music production software from Ogopa DJs, had been brought by Chameleone.

Chameleone created the “Obulamu Bwensi Bunyuma Kiro” beat for Mad Tiger in 2000, but he didn’t deliver it to him until Dorotia stepped in.

After getting the beat, Mad Tiger paid 70k to a pastor-owned recording studio in Nakasero called True Vine to record his vocals.

Mad Tiger claims that after parting ways with Obulamu Bwensi Bunyuma Kiro, he founded “Leone Island Crew,” but later left “Tie Crew.”
