Controversial events promoter Nobert Twizire, popularly known as Nobert Events, has declared that he will retire from elective politics if he fails to win the upcoming LC1 chairperson race for Nsambya Institution.
Nobert made the bold declaration while responding to concerns about the challenges he could face during the election, including allegations that non-residents could be mobilized to vote in the area.
He expressed confidence that such issues have been addressed this time, revealing that he closely monitored the voter registration process to ensure only legitimate residents were included on the register.
Reflecting on his previous election defeats, Nobert said he has contested several political positions without success and believes this is his final opportunity to prove himself.
“I’ve failed in multiple electoral races whenever I’ve contested. This time I’ve been very keen throughout the process and made sure no outsiders were registered on our voters’ register. I’m promising Ugandans that if I fail to win this LC1 race, I will quit politics.”
He recalled losing the 2021 LC3 election to NUP’s Wasswa Arafat before suffering another defeat in the 2026 NRM primaries, where he sought to become the party’s flag bearer.
Nobert insisted that he was unfairly defeated in both contests.
Despite those claims, he said he will have no excuses if he fails to secure victory in the LC1 race.
If elected, Nobert says his priorities will include eliminating street thuggery in Nsambya and ensuring that government initiatives such as the Parish Development Model (PDM) and other public programs benefit the rightful residents they are intended to serve.
