The Inspectorate of Government (IGG) says it has recovered approximately Shs41.9 billion through its efforts to combat corruption and promote accountability in public governance.
IGG official Hon. Lady Justice Naluzze Aisha Batala revealed that the Inspectorate also recommended the payment of about Shs2.4 billion during the 2025/2026 financial year.

Naluze, however, warned that increasing cases of administrative injustice remain a major challenge to Uganda’s development.
She cited the victimisation of whistleblowers by their superiors and delays in accessing vital documents as some of the issues undermining effective public administration.
The officials made the remarks on Monday ahead of International Ombuds Day on October 8, which highlights the role of ombuds institutions in promoting fairness, accountability and good governance.
