The Kabaka (king) of Buganda, Ronald Muwenda Mutebi, broke silence publicly yesterday when he appeared in a clip assuring the Buganda kingdom about his recovery journey and that he would soon be back home.
The Kabaka Ronald Muwenda Mutebi addressed the public about his health on Monday, briefing about his current situation.
Speaking in a video clip, the Kabaka of Bugand shared a video from Namibia through social media platforms and outlets and said that medical experts advised him to take some rest as they are monitoring his health for better recovery process and after improving he hopes to come back to Uganda.
“I greet you all, I am Ssabasaja Kabaka speaking from where I came to rest and also get treatment following doctor’s instructions as we were advised, it has been along time without hearing from you following doctor’s orders that put us away from the regular work and other engagements.
We are getting better and hope to return home soon,we thank God for protecting us and also the Buganda people who have prayed for us and standing with us in the trying moments.” Kabaka said.
Kabaka’s health has been unstable for some time on several occasions. Since March this year, his German doctors have advised him to take some rest as they monitor his health condition. Later, he was taken to Namibia to take more rest as specialists monitored his health.
However, most of the Buganda subjects have raised concern about Kabaka’s condition because he had taken long without appearing to the public like the annual major kingdom events like enkuka and Kabaka birthday run where the Katikiiro of Buganda, Charles Peter Mayiga addressed the kingdom that Kabaka would not be able to fly off participants and delighted Nnaalinya Nabaloga his sister to represent him , he never appeared to the public as it is always done which rose many questions from the public that they need to see their King and they are willing to go and visit him.
Charles Peter Mayiga (the Katikiiro of Buganda) has always insisted on the public to respect Kabaka’s privacy and disclosed to the public that the Kabaka is well though he is having some rest as they are monitoring his health which was instructed by medical specialists.
Kabaka’s speech warmed people’s hearts and eagerly waiting to meet him as he returns.
