Hajjat Hadijah Namyalo, the Senior Presidential Advisor on Political Affairs and manager of the Office of the National Chairman (ONC), has sparked curiosity with a cryptic social media post about the warning signs of a collapsing empire.
In a post shared on X on October 21, 2026, under her account @ChiefMuzzukulu, Namyalo wrote: “The first sign to show that your empire is drowning, rats assume more power than the cats, goats dance to the rhythm, dogs whispering to the meat, and cows exiting to save the grass.”
She followed the statement with another pointed line: “Turn off the lights at your own will because darkness is only good for the naked.”
Although Namyalo did not identify a specific person, organisation or political group as the target of her message, the wording has the tone of a warning about a system facing internal disorder. The reference to an empire “drowning” suggests a structure in decline, while the animal imagery presents a world in which traditional roles and expected loyalties have been disrupted.

The metaphor of rats gaining power over cats could suggest a reversal of authority, while goats dancing to another rhythm may evoke people following outside influence. The image of dogs whispering to the meat could be interpreted as a suggestion of secret dealings or compromised loyalty, while cows leaving to save the grass may represent valuable members abandoning a struggling system.
Her closing remark about darkness and nakedness adds another layer to the message. It could be read as a taunt or warning about exposure, vulnerability or the consequences of choosing not to confront uncomfortable realities.
Namyalo is a prominent figure in Uganda’s ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM), known for political mobilisation and outreach to the Bazzukulu. However, she did not explain what prompted the post or clarify whether it was directed at internal party dynamics, political opponents or a broader situation.
