Ugandan singer Jowy Landa, born Joan Namugerwa, has revealed a terrifying encounter with suspected thugs while returning from a performance in Busia.
The singer said she and her team were attacked while travelling back from the show, with the assailants allegedly hurling heavy pavers at their vehicle in an attempt to stop them.
According to Jowy, one of the stones smashed towards the driver’s side, narrowly missing those inside the vehicle.
Sharing her experience on X, Jowy said the paver struck the area around the passenger seat next to the driver.
Fortunately, the window did not shatter, helping prevent what could have been a serious injury.
“We were attacked by thieves yesterday on our way back from the Busia show, but luckily no one got hurt. My manager told the driver to keep driving. What a wicked world this is. These guys threw pavers at the car windshield.”
The singer said her manager immediately instructed the driver to keep moving rather than stop, allowing the team to escape the attack safely.
The incident has once again raised concerns over attacks targeting motorists, particularly travellers driving at night.
