Ugandan events promoter Nobat Events, real name Norbert Twizire, has found himself in serious trouble after he was remanded to Luzira Prison over allegations linked to the management of billions of shillings belonging to music promoters.
Nobat appeared before Makindye Magistrates Court on Monday, October 5, 2026, alongside fellow promoter Mujabi Twaha, as the two faced allegations of misappropriating about Shs1 billion in government funds released to the Kampala and Beyond United Music Promoters SACCO.
The two are also accused of allegedly mismanaging approximately Shs31.9 million in members’ savings, adding another twist to an already explosive dispute surrounding the promoters’ SACCO.

Nobat’s court appearance comes shortly after he was reportedly detained at Katwe Police Station over allegations connected to the handling of the SACCO funds.
And Monday’s court session came with its own dose of drama.
Nobat reportedly got into a heated confrontation with another promoter over the SACCO money, with the argument escalating to the point where the two nearly came to blows.
Video footage and reports from the court premises captured the tense moment before police officers reportedly stepped in to prevent the situation from turning physical.
For now, Nobat and Mujabi remain on the wrong side of the law as the allegations against them continue through the court process.
They have not been convicted, and the accusations remain allegations until determined by court.
The duo is expected back before court on October 26, 2026, when the case will proceed to its next stage.
