Dr. Jose chameleon, through his Facebook page, has apologized to his fans in the Karamoja region for not showing up at a concert where he was set to perform.
Chameleon reveals that the issue stemmed from flight tickets which delayed coming through, consequently causing him to miss the concert which was named the Moroto Music Festival, in the
region of Karamoja.
The “Forever” singer also went ahead to say that there are people spreading propaganda as to why he never turned up in Moroto. He says that these are pure lies and he promised to give them another shot after missing this one and he ended the quote by apologizing to them.
In a Facebook post that Dr. Jose chameleon issued, he said;
“I was displeased too when the flights didn’t make it through. I tried though but the flights were not available as we earlier expected. Will is power. I am sure that I am coming to do what we have to do soon. Let the propaganda be just talk, we shall music soon. My sincere apologies. I will make it up!!”
Many people were not satisfied with chameleon’s response and apologies and they called this a total lie. Some people allege that chameleon was fully paid and all his conditions worked on, including hiring a chopper for him but he just didn’t turn up.
On Friday 13th, Chameleon was seen at Spice Diana’s show at the cricket oval in Lugogo. The Karamoja fans who were so bitter vowed not to turn up for the next concert even if chameleon finally shows up.

However, this is not the first time Dr. Jose chameleon has missed a show in his 22-year music career. There have been numerous scenarios when he has missed performing for his fans and yet money had already been paid to him. There are other musicians who skip their scheduled shows as well, it is not only unique to Chameleon. This is a vice that should stop with immediate effect because fans keeping cheated.
Some of the reasons why musicians fail to turn up at concerts include being printed on concert posters by the promoters yet they haven’t been notified. In this case, the musician can’t turn up. The other reason is that some musicians are not fully paid and so with half pay, the musician will not sing.
There are cases where musicians are booked for so many shows in one day and this makes it so hard for them to attend all of them. Musicians sing to make money and so they can’t reject money once it comes through. However on some occasions, the concerts are so many on one day, some venues are too far to reach, thereby causing the artiste to skip the show.
The consequences of Musicians failing to turn up include loss of property as angry fans destroy chairs and tables at the show where a musician hasn’t turned up. Some show organizers may get arrested for lying to their fans and many others.
There should always be a harmonious way of doing things, even when a musician has not turned up, they should communicate in time so that the organizer knows what to do next.
