King David Junior School in Ndejje has suspended all school operations for two weeks following the tragic road accident that claimed the lives of 20 pupils and one adult, during an educational trip to Kapchorwa.
The crash occurred at Chekwatit Village, Kimawa Parish, Kawowo Sub-county, Kapchorwa District, at around 2000 hours. The crash involved an Isuzu bus, registration number UA 108BQ
Parents have been directed to pick up their children and return them home as the school begins mourning the victims and authorities investigate the circumstances surrounding the tragedy.

The number of injured children continues to rise as several victims remain hospitalized, leaving families devastated.
In response to the tragedy, the Wakiso Resident District Commissioner (RDC) has suspended all school trips with immediate effect, including journeys to nearby destinations such as Kampala.
The Minister of State for Higher Education, John Chrysostom Muyingo, also announced the suspension of all educational study trips nationwide pending comprehensive investigations into the deadly accident.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Works and Transport (MoWT) has convened an emergency meeting to review road safety measures following the incident. The Minister of Works and Transport is expected to address the media later today after the meeting.
Reports indicate that a second bus assigned to transport pupils on the same trip never proceeded with the journey. The driver reportedly parked the bus and abandoned the trip after learning about the fatal accident involving the first bus.
As investigations continue, parents, relatives, and the wider community remain in mourning, with many anxiously waiting for updates on the condition of the injured children.
