The 18th edition of the Bayimba International Festival of the Arts was officially launched on Monday, July 13, 2026, with organizers confirming that this year’s highly anticipated festival will take place from August 28 to 30 at Lunkulu Island in Buikwe District.
The three-day festival will once again transform the island on the shores of Lake Victoria into a fun creative hub, bringing together artists, performers, and culture lovers from Uganda, East Africa, and beyond.
Known as one of Uganda’s premier arts festivals, Bayimba will showcase a rich blend of live music, dance, theatre, film, fashion, photography, storytelling, visual arts, and other creative performances across multiple stages.
Organizers expect more than 20 local and international acts to perform during the festival, promising an immersive experience that celebrates creativity, culture, and nature.

Media personality Douglas Lwanga joined the launch celebrations, encouraging fans to mark their calendars and prepare for what he described as another unforgettable Bayimba experience.
With its unique island setting and diverse artistic lineup, the festival has grown into one of East Africa’s most celebrated annual cultural events, attracting thousands of attendees every year.
Organizers say ticket details and additional announcements about performers and activities will be released through Bayimba’s official communication channels in the coming weeks.
