Ugandan TikToker Benita Nakabugo says she has lost her job at The Matcha Space in Bahrain after supporters of the National Unity Platform (NUP) allegedly targeted her employer over her political comments following Uganda’s 2026 presidential election.
Nakabugo, who uses the TikTok name Benitah256MadamViolence, accused NUP supporters of repeatedly contacting the company and putting pressure on it until she was dismissed.
“You kept contacting them and putting pressure on them until they fired me, and now you have succeeded in your mission. I have lost my job.”
The TikToker asked those behind the campaign to stop contacting her former employer, saying they had already achieved what they wanted.
Nakabugo’s dispute with some NUP supporters reportedly followed her post-election comments in which she reminded opposition supporters that their candidate had lost the election and that President Museveni would be sworn in.
Her remarks reportedly triggered backlash online, with some users turning their attention to The Matcha Space, where she worked as a barista. The company’s social media pages were reportedly flooded with comments, while some users also posted negative reviews.
The controversy intensified after videos featuring Nakabugo were removed from the company’s TikTok account, prompting speculation about her employment.
Nakabugo has now confirmed that she lost the job, although The Matcha Space has not publicly stated why her employment was terminated.
She also questioned whether her dismissal would change Uganda’s political leadership, sarcastically telling those she blamed for the campaign:
“So, let me see if losing my job is going to make Bobi Wine the President of Uganda. If that was the mission, congratulations—you succeeded.”
Hello, NUP supporters. I would like to say that what you have done to my company is enough. You kept contacting them and putting pressure on them until they fired me, and now you have succeeded in your mission I have lost my job.
I sincerely hope you can stop sending them…
