Brian “Makona” Ssemanda’s recovery has taken a positive turn, with Next Media CEO Kin Kariisa revealing that the popular entertainment presenter could soon be discharged from hospital.
Kariisa shared the encouraging update on August 13 after visiting Makona at Case Hospital in Kampala, where he is receiving treatment following a serious road accident on August 7.
“Just checked on Makona, he’s getting better,” Kariisa said, thanking fans and well-wishers for their prayers and appreciating the Case Hospital medical team for their care.
Makona was seriously injured in the crash, which occurred at around 2:00am near Namulanda, Wakiso District. Police said the accident involved a Toyota Allex and a Toyota Hilux, with preliminary findings indicating that the Hilux crossed into the opposite lane before colliding head-on with the Allex.
The Sanyuka TV and NBS Television presenter was initially admitted to the intensive care unit at Kisubi Hospital before being transferred to Case Hospital for further treatment.
Makona, known for his work on UnCut Sabula, has built a strong following through celebrity interviews, entertainment reporting and coverage of Uganda’s biggest showbiz events.

With Kariisa now saying he “should be home soon,” the latest update has brought fresh relief to Makona’s colleagues, friends and thousands of fans who have been following his recovery.
