Team No Sleep singer Ava Peace has finally broken her silence on the explosive reports that she was allegedly behind the collapse of the much-hyped 6ix Killaz girl group.
The allegations have followed the singer ever since the ambitious female collective mysteriously fizzled out, despite bringing together some of Uganda’s biggest and most promising new-school female artists.
6ix Killaz brought together Ava Peace, Nandor Love, Jowy Landa, Nina Roz, Zafaran and Recho Rey and came onto the scene in 2024 with fans expecting nothing short of fireworks.
With such a powerful lineup under one roof, many tipped the group to become a major force in Uganda’s music industry. But the hype quickly turned into disappointment.
After releasing just one song, ‘Kukyakala Na Kubwa’, the six-member project reportedly went cold, with the artists eventually going their separate ways.
That is when whispers started making rounds that Ava Peace had allegedly played a role in the group’s collapse, especially because several of the members had affiliations with Team No Sleep.
But Ava has now stepped forward to wash her hands of the allegations, insisting that she did not influence the group’s split and, surprisingly, claims she did not even know it had happened.
Speaking during an interview, Ava said she was simply busy concentrating on her music and had no reason to interfere with anyone.
“Surprisingly, staying there I had no idea. I was just doing music. You know I do not bother people unless they bother me. But I think things just find you but I do not have any issues,” she said.
However, just when it appeared she was putting the drama to bed, Ava dropped another bombshell.
The singer admitted that she no longer talks to any of the former 6ix Killaz members, although she insisted there is no bad blood between them.
“I do not talk to any of them anymore. They are all not my friends. I didn’t distance myself but none of them is my friend,” she revealed.
Her admission has only added more intrigue to the story, given the rumours that have surrounded the group’s sudden disappearance from the music scene.
Despite everything, Ava believes the 6ix Killaz concept still has plenty of life left in it.
She noted that the group has the potential to return bigger and more powerful if the members ever decide to reunite.
For now, however, the once-promising girl group remains a distant memory, while Ava Peace insists she wasn’t the person who pulled the plug on the six-girl dream.
