Ugandan music star Jose Chameleone’s son, Abba Marcus Mayanja, has been arrested in Minnesota, United States, over an alleged domestic assault, just hours after publicly announcing his split from his pregnant girlfriend.
Mayanja, 20, was booked by Edina Police on August 14, 2026, on a misdemeanor domestic assault allegation. Booking information indicated that his bail or bond was set at $10,000.
The arrest came shortly after Abba took to social media to announce that his relationship had ended, while accusing his former girlfriend of provoking him and describing his alleged actions as retaliation.
In one post, he wrote that he was finally done with the relationship, while in another he claimed that people close to him knew him as peaceful and suggested that he had been pushed to react.

However, Abba did not provide specific details about the incident that resulted in his arrest. It also remains unclear from the available information whether his former girlfriend was the complainant.
The development has attracted even more attention because the couple had announced earlier this year that they were expecting their first child. The pregnancy was publicly revealed in April, with social media posts showing the couple together.
Abba is the eldest son of veteran singer Jose Chameleone and Daniella Atim and has increasingly built his own public profile through social media and entertainment-related content.
