UNEB Set To Release PLE Results Next Week

The Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) is set to release the results of the 2022 Primary Leaving Examinations (PLE). Close to the end of last year from the 7th – 9th of November, as is the norm in the education sector, candidates all over the Country sat for their final Primary Leaving examinations and the exercise was successfully completed.

According to Mr. Daniel Odong, the head of the Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB), all preparations to release the results that came out of the PLE are almost complete, and they are only waiting for next week to release the long-awaited results. Mr. Odongo said this while appearing before the Parliamentary committee on education.

Mr. Odongo further stated that a total of 832,839 candidates sat for the PLE examinations and the results of how they performed, and which school or districts performed best would be found out after the release of the results.

The examinations were marked across 13 centers and they were marked by a total of 5,544 examiners. After the release of these examinations, candidates will use them to apply for admission to secondary school.

The selection for schools will start soon after the release of these examinations. However, before the examinations are released, UNEB usually gets to have a meeting with the Minister of Education and Sports to discuss the performance of the learners, find out which loopholes need to be fixed and the new mechanisms that need to be employed to see that the quality of education in Uganda is improved.

After this meeting, the results are released to the general public and candidates can access them through their mobile phones and also at their schools.

UNEB further revealed that the marking of the Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) examinations were
also finalized and they shall be released soon after the PLE results.
