President Paul Kagame of Rwanda on Monday hosted General Muhoozi Kainerugaba, the Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) of the Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF), for high-level discussions in Kigali.
According to an official statement, the meeting focused on strengthening the longstanding bilateral cooperation between Uganda and Rwanda, as well as promoting regional peace, security, and stability.
The engagement comes as the two neighboring countries continue efforts to deepen diplomatic and security cooperation following years of improved relations.
Following the meeting, supporters of Gen. Muhoozi welcomed the visit on social media, describing it as a significant step in fostering stronger ties between the two nations.
One supporter praised both President Kagame and President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, saying their leadership continues to shape the region’s future while expressing confidence in Gen. Muhoozi’s leadership.
The meeting underscores the continued commitment by both Uganda and Rwanda to work together on issues of mutual interest, including regional security and cooperation.
