Ugandan singer Lydia Jazmine has opened up about heartbreak, cheating and troubled relationships, revealing that she would rather walk away herself than wait for a man to end things.
The singer admitted that, despite her fame and success, she has experienced emotional pain and betrayal just like anyone else. She pointed to her song “EX”, explaining that it was inspired by someone who hurt her emotionally.
According to Lydia, once she realises that a relationship is no longer working or that she has been betrayed, she does not sit around waiting to be dumped. Instead, she takes control and walks away.
“But do you know what I do? I walk away. I don’t wait for the man to chuck me. I walk away myself,” she said.
Lydia also stressed that heartbreak and infidelity are not limited to ordinary relationships, noting that even some of the world’s biggest female celebrities have dealt with cheating.
Interestingly, she explained that “EX” is not strictly about romantic relationships. The song also touches on fake friends and people who have wronged her in different ways.
Her latest revelation has given fans a glimpse into the singer’s approach to relationships—when the love becomes toxic or trust is broken, Lydia would rather be the one to close the door.
