Ugandan media personality and events host Mr Henrie, real name Henry Arinaitwe, has confirmed that he recently welcomed a baby, expressing gratitude to God for the blessing of fatherhood.
Speaking in an interview with Sanyuka TV, the Galaxy Radio presenter opened up about becoming a parent, describing it as a privilege that should never be taken for granted.
“Of course, I’m a straight man and having a baby means I’m fully functioning. Many people out there do not have the blessing of being parents, I thank God for that,” he said.
His revelation comes amid speculation linking him romantically to his Galaxy Radio workmate Sovaria Hughes, who recently returned from maternity leave after giving birth to a baby boy named Rovian.
Following Hughes’ return, rumours circulated that Mr Henrie could be the child’s father, with claims that the two had allegedly been dating privately.
However, Mr Henrie did not explicitly confirm or deny the speculation during his interview. Instead, he questioned how the rumours gained traction, saying he had never publicly addressed the matter.
“I do not know where the media gets the evidence because I have never come out to tell you I have a baby. Why are you speculating? The day I come out and say it myself, then you will confirm yourselves,” he said amid laughter.
While confirming that he had become a father, Mr Henrie stopped short of identifying the child’s mother or clarifying whether the baby was connected to the rumours involving Hughes.
The media personality also reflected on how fatherhood has changed his outlook on life, acknowledging that raising a child comes with challenges that require patience and commitment.
“I’m glad because not everyone gets that privilege and I thank God for blessing me and making me a father. Fatherhood is a process that comes with its own challenges but there is no shortcut around it,” he said.
He added that being able to raise a healthy child is a blessing that should not be taken for granted, noting that some parents face difficult circumstances when their children are born with complications.
