Singer and outspoken National Unity Platform (NUP) supporter Kabaya, born Joseph Bwogi, has alleged that he lost four teeth after being abducted and assaulted by unknown individuals.
Kabaya shared the claims shortly after he was released from Kumwenda Police Station along Mityana Road on police bond.
Photos and videos circulating on social media showed the singer with blood stains on his shirt as he recounted the alleged ordeal.
“I lost four teeth that were removed by the individuals who abducted and beat me up,” Kabaya said.
According to one of his close friends, the singer was allegedly arrested on Monday at around 10:00 p.m. while returning home.
The friend claimed Kabaya found a police patrol vehicle parked near his residence, where unknown individuals were allegedly assaulting members of his family.
It is alleged that when Kabaya questioned why his relatives were being beaten, the individuals immediately arrested him and took him away.
The same source further claimed that the singer had been under surveillance by unknown individuals for some time and had previously managed to evade them. However, they allegedly waited for him at his home before apprehending him.
