Kalifah AgaNaga Confident of Toppling Nalukoola in 2031 Parliamentary Elections

The musician, born Saddat Mukiibi, says he remains committed to addressing the challenges affecting residents, insisting that the issues he set out to fight for are still unresolved.

“In 2031, I’m returning to contest for the Kawempe North parliamentary seat. The issues hurting people are immense. We started this journey, and we’re not about to give up. Look at what Hon. Balaam has uncovered during his tenure as Minister of State for Local Government,” he said.

AgaNaga explained that he did not contest in the 2026 general election because his political party agreed to support incumbent Kawempe North MP Hon. Nalukoola to avoid splitting the opposition vote.

According to him, the decision was also influenced by the closely contested Kawempe North by-election, where NRM candidate Faridah Nambi mounted a strong challenge against Nalukoola.

“What stopped me from contesting in the 2026 general election is that, as a party, we decided to back Hon. Nalukoola so we wouldn’t split the opposition vote. After what happened in the by-election, we felt that was the best decision. In 2031, we’ll ask him what he has done for the people,” he stated.

The “Nassanga” hitmaker further expressed confidence that he will defeat Nalukoola in 2031, arguing that the legislator has not yet delivered enough for the people who entrusted him with the mandate.

“I’m sure in 2031 we’re going to overthrow him because we’re yet to see what he has done,” AgaNaga said.
