Pastor Irene Manjeri finally broken her silence over the concerns surrounding her recent collapse while preaching, assuring the public that she is in good health and that the incident was caused by extreme exhaustion rather than any underlying medical condition.
Speaking in a recent interview, the renowned born-again preacher explained that she had just returned from intensive ministry tours in Japan, Hong Kong, and the United States before immediately throwing herself into preparations for a major crusade in Mayuge.
As the lead pastor, Manjeri said she personally oversaw nearly every aspect of the event, leaving her physically drained by the time she took to the pulpit.
Following the incident, she underwent medical examinations, which ruled out heart complications and any other serious illness.
“Doctors told me I have no heart problem or any other illness. I had simply become too tired after months of ministry and organizing crusades,” she said.
Addressing the growing trend of public feuds among pastors, Manjeri said she has deliberately stayed away from exchanging insults or accusations through television, radio, and social media.
She argued that media platforms should be used to spread the Gospel and inspire believers rather than attack fellow ministers, adding that many church conflicts are often fueled by followers instead of the pastors themselves.
“God gave us these media platforms to preach the Gospel, not to fight one another. I believe in mediation, not public battles,” she said.
The preacher also offered a rare glimpse into her personal life, revealing that she spends more than Shs1.3 million every month on makeup.
According to Manjeri, the beauty products are shipped to her by her daughter, who lives in the United States, from both the U.S. and Dubai.
She added that although she wears expensive clothes, she considers them ordinary fashion and believes looking presentable is part of her public ministry.
Manjeri also addressed reports surrounding her recently acquired Range Rover, clarifying that she did not buy the luxury vehicle outright but received it through a sale arrangement.
She disclosed that she is considering giving it away, noting that she has previously donated Mercedes-Benzes, Range Rovers, and Toyota Land Cruisers because she believes generosity attracts greater blessings.
Commenting on the viral sermons of Pastor Isaac Rwomushana, Manjeri said many people have misunderstood his teachings on tithing.
While admitting she has not watched many of his sermons, she described him as a promising young preacher with great potential and expressed hope that he will continue to grow in ministry.
She further revealed that she would one day be happy to invite Pastor Rwomushana to minister at her church.
