Sanyuka TV presenter Brian Ssemanda, popularly known as Macona, has been discharged from hospital after making significant progress in his recovery from the serious Entebbe Road crash that claimed the lives of two of his Next Media colleagues.
Macona had been receiving treatment at Case Hospital after the August 7, 2026 accident, which claimed the lives of producer Badru Kasirye and content creator Isaac Ndamagye.
The presenter sustained serious injuries and was initially admitted to the Intensive Care Unit. He later regained consciousness and continued responding positively to treatment.
Next Media Group CEO Kin Kariisa had earlier visited Macona at Case Hospital and reported that he was responding well to treatment. The media company also said he was receiving support as he dealt with the loss of his colleagues.
At one point during his treatment, hospital visits were restricted to allow the presenter to concentrate on his recovery.
Macona has now left the hospital and is continuing his recovery outside the facility, marking another important step following the devastating accident.
