Hon. Haruna Kyeyune Kasolo has officially handed over the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to newly appointed Foreign Affairs Minister, Ambassador Adonia Ayebare, ending his nearly two-month stint as Acting Minister.
The handover ceremony was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs headquarters following the swearing-in of three newly appointed ministers by President Yoweri Museveni at State House on Tuesday.
Upon handing over the office, Kasolo congratulated Ayebare and wished him success as he takes charge of the country’s diplomatic affairs.
Kasolo said Uganda’s diplomacy has continued to advance the country’s national interests, strengthen strategic partnerships and deepen regional and international cooperation.
He also expressed his willingness to work with Ayebare to build on the progress already made and further advance Uganda’s interests on the global stage.
“Congratulations, Amb. Adonia Ayebare, upon taking the oath of office as Foreign Minister of the Republic of Uganda. I wish you wisdom and success as you take on this important responsibility.”
Ayebare now takes over the ministry with Kasolo formally returning the Foreign Affairs portfolio following his period as Acting Minister.
As I handed over the Microfinance portfolio earlier today to Hon. @SMusherure Kuteesa, I did so with gratitude for the opportunity to have served and with confidence in the strong foundation now in place.
