After years of waiting, chasing and publicly declaring his admiration, singer John Blaq is finally set to achieve one of his biggest music dreams — working with songstress Rema Namakula.
The “Mbawe” hitmaker, real name John Kasadha, first made his intentions public back in August 2023 when he revealed that he had always dreamed of recording a song with Rema, even before he became a household name in Uganda’s music industry.
According to John Blaq, Rema was the one singer he desperately wanted to work with, and landing a collaboration with her would be a major personal milestone.
At the time, he explained that his desire to work with Rema dated back years and that he had even tried using people close to the singer to make the connection happen.
John Blaq reportedly reached out through Rema’s close friend Evelyne Namulondo and her former manager Kayemba Ssolo Geoffrey, but his efforts failed to produce the much-anticipated collaboration.
But after years of waiting, the dream has finally received a green light.
The latest development was confirmed during Dokta Brain’s press conference at Skyz Hotel Naguru, where John Blaq revealed that Rema had agreed to work on the project.
“Rema has said Dokta Brain is present and you will pen for us a song and we record it in studio,” John Blaq confirmed.
For John Blaq, what started as a bold 2023 wish has now turned into a real music project, with fans waiting to see what happens when the two vocal powerhouses finally hit the studio together.
