Bad Character Records boss Kalifah AgaNaga (Sadat Mukiibi) has challenged fellow singer Alexander Bagonza, popularly known as A Pass, to a musical battle following the latter’s harsh criticism of the star-studded “Nassanga” remix.
Kalifah issued the challenge while addressing the media after his concert at Buloba Forest Park in Lweza over the weekend.
Despite attracting a lower-than-expected turnout, the singer remained upbeat as he responded to A Pass’ recent remarks about the remix, which features several Ugandan artists.
The “Nassanga” hitmaker urged A Pass to stop ridiculing artists who took part in the remix, including Lil Pazo and Eddy Kenzo, arguing that collaboration should be celebrated rather than mocked.
Kalifah also took a swipe at A Pass, noting that while he often criticises Eddy Kenzo, the latter has achieved milestones such as winning a BET Award and earning a Grammy nomination—accolades that many artists can only dream of.
“Stop mocking fellow artists. If you think you’re that good, let’s settle this in a musical battle. Show us a song bigger than the ‘Nassanga’ remix today. You’re attacking someone with a BET Award and a Grammy nomination—achievements you may spend your entire career chasing and never attain. If you think you’re that good, let’s settle it in a music battle,” Kalifah AgaNaga said.
This is not the first time A Pass has found himself in public spats with fellow musicians.
Over the years, he has exchanged sharp words with several of Uganda’s top artists, including Bebe Cool, often questioning their music and artistry.
All eyes are now on A Pass to see whether he will accept Kalifah AgaNaga’s challenge or respond to the latest remarks.
