Singer Nakiyingi Veronica, popularly known as Vinka, has addressed the political controversy and boycott claims surrounding her maiden concert, which is set to take place today at Lugogo Cricket Oval.
Speaking about reports that a section of individuals is rallying people to boycott her show, Vinka distanced herself from politics, insisting that she has never positioned herself as a political person.
The singer explained that her only connection to politics was her decision to support her husband, Nelson Witta, who contested for the Isingiro West County parliamentary seat in the 2026 General Election but lost.

Vinka stressed that supporting her husband does not make her a political person, describing herself simply as a supportive wife who stands by her partner.
“I’m not a political person. I’m sure you have never heard or seen me anywhere talk about politics. But I’m just a woman who supports her husband, yes. Regardless, I will have to support him. I’m that supportive person. I’ve never come out to say anything political,” Vinka said.
She further questioned why people were dragging politics into her concert, pointing out that she has continued to work with different artists regardless of their political affiliations.
“Otherwise, I even have a big collaboration with Dax Vibez. Why are people doing that?” she asked.
Vinka’s comments come as she prepares to take the stage for her much-anticipated maiden concert at Lugogo Cricket Oval, amid calls from some individuals for fans to stay away from the event.
