Bukoto Central Member of Parliament Richard Ssebamala has criticized Leader of the Opposition Joel Ssenyonyi and National Unity Platform (NUP) Deputy President for Buganda Muhammad Muwanga Kivumbi over their repeated criticism of President Yoweri Museveni and Chief of Defence Forces Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba.
Ssebamala, who is also a member of the Democratic Party (DP), said Muwanga Kivumbi should avoid making public attacks against Gen. Muhoozi, especially after recently regaining his freedom.
According to the legislator, the CDF is also human and should not be expected to tolerate constant public insults without reacting.
He said he was therefore not surprised when Gen. Muhoozi recently declared on his X account that he no longer wanted Joel Ssenyonyi to continue serving as the Leader of the Opposition in Parliament.

Ssebamala argued that political leaders should promote respectful engagement instead of escalating tensions through public exchanges, particularly on sensitive national issues.
His remarks come amid growing political tensions between the ruling establishment and opposition leaders, with recent exchanges involving Gen. Muhoozi and senior figures in the National Unity Platform drawing widespread public attention.
