Ugandan R&B singer Ronald Magada, popularly known as Maro, is preparing to stage a major concert in Kampala, marking his long-awaited return to the local live music scene after several years away.
The concert had originally been scheduled for last year but was postponed after Maro survived a horrific road accident in Zambia, where he had travelled for work.
The crash nearly claimed the lives of the singer, his daughter, and several colleagues who were travelling with him, forcing him to suspend all concert plans and focus on his recovery.
Although reports indicated that the concert was initially planned for September 2025, the tragic accident brought those plans to an abrupt halt.
Despite escaping without serious physical injuries, Maro and his team decided to delay the concert to allow him sufficient time to recover mentally from the traumatic experience.
Now, nearly a year later, the “Anjagala” hitmaker is ready to return to the stage, with December 4, 2026, earmarked as the date for his highly anticipated comeback concert.
While the official venue has not yet been confirmed, sources indicate that Lugogo Cricket Oval, UMA Show Grounds, and Serena Hotel Kampala are among the venues being considered. There are also reports that the singer is planning a second concert in Jinja, staying true to his nickname as the “Son of the Nile.”
Having spent the past few years based in Germany while continuing to release new music, Maro’s upcoming concert is expected to be one of the biggest milestones of his career and a reunion with fans who have patiently awaited his return.
