Lydia Jazmine: Fans Created My Feud with Rema Namakula

Singer Lydia Jazmine has dismissed long-standing claims of a feud with fellow musician Rema Namakula, insisting the two have never had bad blood despite years of speculation.

Speaking during a YouTube podcast, Jazmine reflected on the period when Rema Namakula and Eddy Kenzo were in a relationship and addressed rumors that she was secretly involved with the award-winning singer, allegations that many believed strained her relationship with Rema.

The songstress described the claims as false and baseless, saying fans and social media users created a narrative that never reflected reality.

According to Jazmine, she has never had any personal conflict with Rema and believes it is common for fans to pit female artists against one another, even when there is no disagreement between them.

“I do not have any problem with Rema Namakula. Fans know how to create a feud between artists, and I have seen it happen so many times. It hurts a lot. Even when artists are not close or don’t hang out together, it doesn’t mean they have bad blood. From the bottom of my heart, I have never beefed with her. I don’t know about her side, but from mine, never. Even when I was still at school, I used to mime her songs,” Jazmine said.

Jazmine also explained why her name became linked to Eddy Kenzo, revealing that he was one of the first established musicians to believe in her talent and mentor her when she was starting out in the music industry.

She said she often spoke publicly about Kenzo because of the support he gave her, but eventually stopped after people began interpreting their friendship as a romantic relationship.

“I used to speak about Eddy Kenzo so much, but I decided to stop because people were insinuating things. He has been my friend for years, and he still is. Whenever I have a problem, I can easily talk to him. The first person I consulted before I became who I am today was Eddy Kenzo. He is someone I respect so much. He has always been there for me, guiding me, and he is my friend—respectfully. That is all,” she explained.

Jazmine’s remarks put to rest years of speculation, making it clear that her relationship with Kenzo has always been one of friendship and mentorship, while maintaining that she has never harbored any ill feelings toward Rema Namakula.
