Ugandan TikToker Timothy Kayanja, popularly known as Jayden, has reportedly suffered a relapse and been taken back to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) in India, weeks after undergoing a bone marrow transplant.
The worrying update was shared by entertainment journalist Isaac Ssematimba, popularly known as Kasuku, who said Jayden is currently receiving treatment at Fortis Hospital in India, where he underwent the transplant early last month.
According to Kasuku, Jayden had initially shown signs of improvement following the procedure, but his condition has since deteriorated.
“Unfortunately, he relapsed.”
Kasuku explained that Jayden’s family had been warned that the period following the transplant would be particularly challenging as his body adjusts to the procedure and his immunity remains extremely low.
He said he was informed by a person who helped connect Jayden’s family to the hospital that the young TikToker had been moved back to the ICU in serious condition.
Despite the setback, Kasuku said doctors have given Jayden a 50/50 assessment, noting that his body is still recovering from the transplant and may be reacting to the procedure.
