Ugandan TikToker and businessman Asiimwe Christian, popularly known as Don Chris, has been arrested over allegations of obtaining money by false pretences and fraudulent labour recruitment.
According to police, Don Chris, a former director of the now-defunct Sky Pins labour recruitment company, was arrested at around 2:00AM on August 27, 2026, at a bar in Zana, Makindye-Ssabagabo Municipality, Wakiso District.
Police allege that between 2022 and 2025, Don Chris obtained money from several people after allegedly promising to secure them jobs in countries including Canada, the United Kingdom, Qatar and Dubai.
The alleged jobs included positions such as waiters, cleaners and caregivers, among others.

Police say more than 500 alleged victims have so far recorded statements, with complainants reportedly paying between UGX 5 million and UGX 10 million, depending on the job and destination country.
“We confirm the arrest of Asiimwe Christian, also known as Don Chris, who was a director of the defunct labor recruitment company Sky Pins,in connection with allegations of obtaining money by false pretences and fraudulent labour recruitment.
The suspect was arrested at approximately 0200 hours on 27 August 2026 at a bar in Zana, Makindye-Ssabagabo Municipality, Wakiso District.
It is alleged that the suspect obtained money from several individuals between 2022 to 2025 by falsely representing that he could secure them employment opportunities in countries including Canada, the United Kingdom, Qatar and Dubai, among others. The alleged job placements included positions such as waiters, cleaners and caregivers, among others.”– Police released the statement.
Don Chris is currently in police custody as investigations continue and is expected to be taken to court in accordance with the law.
Police have urged members of the public to verify the licensing and legitimacy of labour recruitment companies and agents before making payments.
