Media personality Stella Nante has officially walked away from Nation Media Group’s NTV, bringing her two-year stint on the station’s popular morning show Mwasuze Mutya to a dramatic end.

Nante announced her exit in a statement shared on her X page, revealing that September 1, 2026, marked her final day on the show.

The celebrated media personality described the departure as the closing of an important chapter in her career, insisting that she is leaving with gratitude, pride and absolutely no regrets.

“Today, I close one chapter of my career with gratitude, pride and no regrets.”

According to Nante, the decision to quit Mwasuze Mutya was not sudden.

She revealed that she made up her mind about two months ago after carefully reflecting on the direction she wanted her career to take.

Rather than viewing her exit as a setback, Nante framed it as the beginning of an exciting new chapter.

“Leaving Mwasuze Mutya is therefore not a departure from growth, but a step into another phase of it.”

The former morning-show host heaped praise on Nation Media Group, NTV and Spark TV, thanking the media giants for giving her the platform, exposure and experience that helped shape her career.

She also reserved special appreciation for the viewers who welcomed her into their homes every morning, together with the guests, sponsors, partners, production crew and colleagues who helped make Mwasuze Mutya a success.

Nante described Nation Media Group as the best media enterprise she has had the opportunity to work for.

“I leave with nothing but gratitude for the opportunity to have worked with what I consider the best media enterprise in Uganda — Nation Media Group.”

But while Nante has confirmed her departure, she has kept her next move tightly under wraps.

She revealed that she is already exploring several new career paths, although she is not yet ready to disclose exactly what she has planned.

“There is much more ahead, and while I may not be ready to share all the details just yet, I am excited about the trajectories I am stepping into and what they hold for the future.”

Nante joined NTV at a time when Mwasuze Mutya was already carrying huge expectations following the departure of renowned presenter Ruth Kalibbala, who had previously taken over the show from veteran host Faridah Nakazibwe.

Her arrival therefore came with enormous pressure, as viewers were eager to see who would successfully take charge of the highly watched morning programme.

However, Nante gradually settled into the role and established her own identity on the show, winning over viewers and making Mwasuze Mutya her own.

For many fans, she successfully filled a challenging space and lived up to the expectations that came with following in the footsteps of some of the programme’s most recognisable presenters.

Now, her sudden exit leaves a major void on one of NTV’s most prominent morning programmes.

The big question is: Who will NTV trust to take over from Stella Nante on Mwasuze Mutya?

For now, viewers will have to wait and see — while Nante keeps the lid firmly on whatever she has planned next.

Today, I close one chapter of my career with gratitude, pride and no regrets.
