Singer A Pass has opened up about an embarrassing incident he experienced early in his music career, revealing that fellow artist Kalifah AgaNaga once walked on stage and snatched the microphone from him during a performance.
A Pass recalled that the incident happened in 2015 at a show organized by DJ Shiru, where he was performing when Kalifah unexpectedly approached him and took away the microphone.
According to A Pass, Kalifah appeared unimpressed by his performance and seemingly decided to take matters into his own hands.
“It was DJ Shiru’s show back in 2015 when he did that. It was so disrespectful, but I just looked at him as I could’ve physically fought him,” A Pass recalled.
The singer admitted that the situation could easily have turned physical, especially since he had attended the event with about ten of his friends. However, he deliberately chose not to retaliate despite feeling deeply disrespected.
A Pass explained that he was conscious of the consequences that could have followed a physical confrontation and felt there was little to gain from allowing his emotions to get the better of him.
“We would’ve beaten some of them, but we just looked on because some of us have a lot to lose,” he said.
He further argued that some of the frustrations artists express about people constantly being “on their neck” can sometimes stem from fellow artists becoming overly familiar and crossing boundaries.
For A Pass, engaging in a fight that night would ultimately have cost him more than it could have gained, prompting him to walk away from the confrontation despite the humiliation he felt.
