Long before he became known online as Thunder Media UG, Nsubuga Denis was already building a name for himself in Uganda’s entertainment industry under the identity Thunder Promoter.
Denis began his journey in entertainment around 2015 while he was still a student. Driven by a passion for music and the desire to create opportunities for emerging artistes, he ventured into music promotion and artiste management.
During his early years in the industry, Denis worked with artistes including Recho Rey, Green Daddy and Denzo, among others, helping to promote their music and build connections within Uganda’s entertainment scene.

For Denis, however, entertainment was never simply about music.
His involvement in artiste promotion exposed him to both the opportunities and challenges that exist within the industry.
Over time, he began questioning the sustainability of his role as a promoter and manager, particularly after experiencing what he describes as the difficulties that can arise in relationships between artistes and the people who support them during the early stages of their careers.
That experience eventually influenced his decision to move away from traditional music promotion.
Rather than leaving the entertainment industry altogether, Denis transitioned into digital media, developing himself as a content creator and interviewer under the name Thunder Media UG.
His new direction allowed him to focus less on promoting artistes and more on telling people’s stories, discussing social issues and bringing attention to individuals facing different challenges.
“I mostly focus on people with certain problems so that I can help them together with the public to find solutions to such problems,” Denis explains.
Through interviews published on YouTube and distributed across other social media platforms, Thunder Media UG has gradually developed into a platform focused on conversations with people from different backgrounds.
The transition from Thunder Promoter to Thunder Media UG represents a significant change in Denis’ career — from promoting entertainment personalities to using digital media as a tool for public conversations and problem-solving.
Today, Nsubuga Denis continues to build his identity in Uganda’s growing digital content industry, drawing on more than a decade of experience that began with music promotion in 2015 and has since evolved into online journalism-style interviews and social media content creation.
