Socialite and media personality Prima Kadarshi has thrown fresh shade at the country’s entertainment industry, openly criticizing artists for what she describes as increasingly predictable and uninspiring concerts.
Speaking during a recent TikTok Live session, Prima argued that many Ugandan musicians have become too comfortable recycling the same performance routines, stage arrangements and concepts whenever they organize concerts.
According to her, fans are being given fewer reasons to spend their money attending live shows.
Prima did not mince her words while addressing the issue, saying artists should be willing to hear uncomfortable truths from their friends.
She explained that her criticism was not meant to attack her fellow artists but rather to encourage them to improve the quality of their shows.
“They are my friends, so if I can’t tell them, who will? It seems people fear telling them the truth. Your concerts are boring. We can’t see the same basic things every time.”
The outspoken personality challenged musicians to think beyond simply stepping on stage, singing their songs and leaving fans to go home.
Taking her criticism even further, Prima revealed that she has deliberately stopped attending Ugandan music events because she no longer finds many of them entertaining enough to justify the cost.
She said she eventually reached a point where she decided to stay away rather than continue spending money on shows that fail to meet her expectations.
“I woke up one day and decided I won’t go back to Ugandan events. I don’t have FOMO because I can’t be paying my money for rubbish.”
