It is a dark and heartbreaking day for Uganda’s media and entertainment fraternity following a tragic road accident that has claimed the lives of two media professionals and left another fighting for his life.
The deceased have been identified as Badru Kasirye, a producer, trade marketing officer and lifestyle/content creator, and Isaac Ndamagye, who was associated with Next Media.

The crash also left TV host and reporter Brian “Makona” Ssemanda critically injured.
He was rushed to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), where he is currently receiving treatment.
The heartbreaking accident reportedly occurred along Entebbe Road as the group was returning from Supremacy Lounge in Nakulabye, where they had gone to watch a celebrity TikTok boxing bout between Shawa and Chicken Chicken.
Kasirye was a familiar face behind Uganda’s entertainment scene, known for his work producing content, sharing behind-the-scenes moments, conducting celebrity interviews and bringing cultural and lifestyle stories to audiences across digital platforms.
His sudden death, alongside that of Ndamagye, has sent shockwaves through the media and entertainment industry, with colleagues, friends and fans struggling to come to terms with the devastating loss.
As messages of condolence continue to pour in, the entertainment fraternity has also rallied behind Makona, praying for his recovery and hoping he pulls through this difficult moment.
May the souls of Badru Kasirye and Isaac Ndamagye rest in eternal peace, and may Brian “Makona” Ssemanda receive healing and a full recovery.
We mourn the loss of Badru Kasirye and Isaac Ndamagye, and hold Brian "Makona" Ssemanda close as he receives treatment in the ICU.
