Former Kawempe South MP and seasoned media personality Kazibwe Bashir Mbaziira has officially returned to Uganda’s airwaves after a six-year break, marking a much-anticipated comeback for his longtime listeners.
Kazibwe made his return on Sunday, September 6, 2026, after joining 96.3 Beat FM, where he has taken on a new radio role.
The veteran broadcaster is hosting a programme dubbed “Alipoota Olutagajja,” which airs every Sunday from midday to 2:00 PM.
The show focuses on political developments and current affairs in Uganda and around the world, giving listeners his trademark analysis and perspective.
For many of his followers, Kazibwe’s return brings back memories of his days at Bukedde FM, where he built a strong reputation as a well-researched, knowledgeable and confident broadcaster who knew how to command the microphone.
His distinctive style, deep understanding of current affairs and ability to engage listeners made him a familiar voice on Ugandan radio, and his return is already generating excitement among those who followed his work years ago.
After six years away, all eyes—and ears—are now on Kazibwe to see whether he can recreate the magic and vibrant radio experience that made his shows a favourite among his audience.
