Ugandan artist SR Victor256 has taken Uganda’s music flag to Jamaica after teaming up with Jamaican star LeoNell Teape to win Video of the Year at the prestigious Sterling Awards with their collaboration Loud.
The victory marks a special achievement for SR Victor256, whose influence on the music scene has already earned him recognition in DJ categories.
This time, however, the spotlight is firmly on him as an artist, celebrating his own music, creativity and vision.

After making an impact behind the decks, the Ugandan entertainer has now earned recognition for a musical project that brings his artistry to the forefront.
Interestingly, Loud came together remarkably quickly. The song was conceived during Play House Fest, where LeoNell Teape was visiting Uganda.
The audio was recorded the day after the event, and the music video was shot on the same day.
What started as a collaboration between artists from Uganda and Jamaica has now received recognition on Jamaican soil, highlighting the growing potential of cross-border musical partnerships.
The Sterling Awards brought together an impressive lineup of gospel heavyweights and international artists, including Samuel Medas, DJ Nicholas, CeCe Winans, Kevin Downswell and Jermaine Edwards, among others.
The win also comes at a busy time for SR Victor256. Fresh from a media tour in Kenya, he made appearances at the Tabasamu Festival in Nairobi and on KTN, K24 and Y254 TV.

His WAN Tour is now moving forward, with Malawi scheduled to host its closing leg at the end of October.
Beyond the trophy, the achievement strengthens the musical connection between Uganda and the Caribbean, potentially expanding SR Victor256’s audience in the region while giving Ugandan music greater international visibility.
It is another reminder that music created in Uganda can cross borders, connect cultures and earn recognition on the global stage.
Congratulations to SR Victor256 and LeoNell Teape on this remarkable achievement, as well as to the fans who supported the project and the entire team behind Loud for helping turn a quick collaboration into an award-winning production.
