Doctors treating Sanyuka TV presenter Brian ‘Macona’ Ssemanda have temporarily barred public visits to the hospital as they seek to provide him with the best possible environment for recovery.
Ssemanda has been receiving treatment since Friday, August 7, 2026, when he was involved in a car crash that claimed the lives of two of his colleagues at Next Media, producer Badru Kasirye and Isaac Claude Ndamagye.
On Monday, a source told us that Ssemanda’s condition was improving as he continued to respond well to treatment at a hospital in Kampala.

However, a statement released by Next Media on Tuesday afternoon through its social media platforms said doctors had temporarily suspended visits to allow him to focus on his recovery.
“Doctors have temporarily suspended visits to give him the best environment for his recovery,” the statement read.
The media company consequently urged those planning to visit Ssemanda to hold off until further notice.
“We therefore ask those planning to visit him to kindly hold off until further notice,” the statement added.
