Ugandan singer King Saha has reportedly been taken from his residence in Kyanja by armed men, days before his highly anticipated Tondeka Ekololo concert.
According to National Unity Platform (NUP) Secretary General David Lewis Rubongoya, the singer was violently taken away and his current whereabouts remain unknown.
“Artiste King Saha violently abducted from Kyanja. Whisked off to an unknown destination,” Rubongoya posted on X.
King Saha had been actively promoting his Tondeka Ekololo show, scheduled for this Friday, with his team reportedly conducting a ticket-selling and promotional drive ahead of the concert.
Videos circulating on social media appear to show scenes of violence during the incident. Individuals seen at the scene were reportedly armed and wearing jackets branded JATT.
Filmmaker and NUP supporter Ninye Tabz also condemned the reported violence, claiming that people involved in promoting the concert were targeted.
“The violence of those JATT officers on King Saha’s people is really uncalled for! These are people just selling tickets and advertising for a concert!” she posted.
She further questioned the reported use of force, saying:
“Why shoot directly at non-violent civilians and brutally harm and shatter the legs of these young men? No! We can do better!”
However, authorities had not issued an official statement confirming King Saha’s reported arrest or abduction, and his current whereabouts remain unclear.
The incident comes just days before his planned concert, raising fresh concern among his fans and supporters as they await clarification from security authorities.
