Ugandan songwriter and singer Dokta Brain has expressed strong confidence in his songwriting abilities, saying he has trained himself to reject the idea of producing a bad song.
The hitmaker, who has written songs for several artists, explained that he evaluates every idea before considering it a complete track.
“I killed the thought of making a bad song. Every song I write, I first make sure it’s good before I call it a track; otherwise, it’s just an idea.”
Dokta Brain said his experience has also taught him to determine which songs suit different artists. He considers the style, performer and subject matter before deciding whether to keep a song for himself or offer it to another musician.
He explained that some songs may have feminine themes that he cannot personally perform, while others may be better suited to rappers such as Crysto Panda. He also keeps songs that connect with him personally for his own catalogue.
The songwriter further revealed that his experience allows him to recognize a strong song almost immediately, even before completing the writing process.
Among his fastest songwriting sessions, Dokta Brain cited “Insido” by Pretty Banks, saying he completed the song in just 35 minutes.
He also named “Babandana” by Grenade Official as another song he wrote within a remarkably short period.
